What pilot participants are saying

"Having visibility into fellow engagement actors' work benefits both companies and investors. Transparency enhances accountability, levels the playing field, and enables more targeted, efficient engagement. Understanding engagement from an issuer’s perspective helps investors avoid duplication, collaborate effectively (where desired), and contribute to a broader, public-good outcome where all stakeholders benefit from company improvements."

FAQs

00

What are you doing with our data? Are you ranking or assessing this information?

No. In contrast to our Voting for Sustainability ranking of investors based on their public voting records, this pilot is focused solely on enabling private information-sharing and enriching with cleaned and collated public data to enable peer insights for investors and a new form of collaboration.

In addition to our primary goal of empowering investors, our secondary goal with this initiative is to enable novel research into engagement's impact. To learn more about our methodology, visit our Measuring Engagement Impacts page.

01

Why are you running this pilot?

The research on collaborative engagements finds them up to 10x more impactful than direct engagements. Part of the explanation of this finding is that multiple investors echoing the same request has resonance within companies.

With nearly 20% of the average stewardship teams' time spent in collaboration, we're convinced that what investors are currently missing is insight into what others are engaging on at your portfolio companies. No one is an expert in every topic: we've built software tools to enable learning from leaders in the interest of supporting more impactful engagement.

02

How do you ensure I stay anonymous?

Confidentiality is guaranteed by our general terms & conditions and further reinforced with the pilot terms on our order form.

03

What do I need to create an account?

Creating an account is free. Once you log-in you will see the various modules we're offering including our Voting for Sustainability ranking results.

04

When is the deadline?

We are requesting full 2024 engagement records by June 13th in order to be able to map them together and provide you with your custom analysis by June 20th.

05

What is the catch?

Thanks to generous initial support from the Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse, participation in this second annual initiatives is completely free. With our first-of-its-kind engagement tracking software, this peer data-sharing can happen in real time. We're leveraging the insights and feedback to further build out our existing engagement tracking solution to serve you better.

06

When is our next chance to participate?

Our goal is to collect the 2025 engagement records in the first half of 2026 without conflicting with AGM season. Timing will be decided based upon participants' feedback.

07

What asset classes are in scope?

We're set up to accommodate engagements with corporates--both public and private equity, as well as corporate fixed income--and engagement with sovereigns, to accommodate the growing number of investors recognizing the importance of engaging at sovereign level as well.

08

Do you have a template we should use?

The template indicating the main & optional fields for gold-, silver- and bronze-level participation can be downloaded here‍. We've slightly adapted the Swiss Association for Responsible Investments template, which has been adapted from the ShareAction template that built on the UK Stewardship Code and the ICSWG Engagement Reporting Guide.

09

Do you have a flyer I can share with my colleagues and/or delegated managers to encourage participation?

The flyer clearly delineating participation terms can be downloaded here.
